Using AI sales technology like SalesApe means you’ll want to stay on top of your local legal and compliance responsibilities — especially when messaging customers or leads.

  • You provide an opt-out mechanism in your communications where required.

🔍 Common State-Level AI and Privacy Rules (US)

Here are a few examples US states with active or emerging rules:

State Key Considerations
California Must disclose when interacting with an AI bot if it could influence a purchase. Requires opt-out options and data protection under CPRA.
Colorado Similar to GDPR. Requires opt-outs, transparency, and lawful basis for contacting.
Connecticut Requires consent for personal data use. Transparency and opt-out recommended.
Utah Less strict but still requires clarity around data use and opt-out ability.

To help you stay transparent, we offer an optional AI identity disclosure toggle.

What it does:

  • When toggled on, your AI sales agent will open each conversation with a short message like:

    Hi, I’m [Agent Name], an AI assistant supporting the [Your Company] team. What's motivated you to make a change in your life and enquire with us today?

  • You can customize this language further via your onboarding specialist or account manager.

Where to find it:

  • Speak to the team and we'll guide you on how to set this up should you choose to.

This tool is optional, and you are responsible for deciding whether to use it based on your own compliance needs.
